Judge William J. Cody
William J. Cody, Sweden Town Justice since May 2001, is seeking his third term this fall. A member of the New York and Massachusetts Bars, Judge Cody has been in private law practice in Brockport since 1982. He is a member of the New York State Magistrates Association and is a Trustee and Past President of the Monroe County Magistrates Association.
Judge Cody is a member of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary serving in the Ministry of Lector and is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. A resident of the Village of Brockport since 1982, he and wife Debra have one daughter, Sara, who is a social worker at the Albany Medical Center.
Judge Cody has secured numerous grants for the modernization of the Sweden Town Court including the renovation of the courtroom, installation of security equipment and replacement of dated furnishings and office equipment.
Judge Cody is seeking re-election because he is committed to ensure that justice is dispensed fairly in the Town of Sweden, and because he would like to continue his efforts to improve the court’s physical plant and processes through state grants, at no cost to the taxpayers of the Town of Sweden.
