Karen Sweeting

Karen Sweeting was appointed to the position of Sweden Town Clerk in November 2004. She is seeking her second full term this fall. Prior to her tenure as Town Clerk, Karen had been the Sweden Tax Receiver (2004) and Clerk in Sweden Town Court (1996-2003).

Karen is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Town Clerks Associations, the New York State Association of Local Government Record Officers and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

A member of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Catholic Daughters, Karen also is the secretary for the Sassafras Twig, serves as secretary of the Brockport Soccer Club and is a member of the Brockport PTSA and Western Monroe Historical Society.

Karen and her husband, Rob, live in Sweden Village where they are raising four sons – Michael (14), Daniel (13), James (10) and William (2).

Karen is seeking another term as Sweden Town Clerk because she enjoys working with the public and likes helping residents understand the services their local government provides.
